GDPR at Bensham Manor

As with all entities utilising data, Bensham Manor School is subject to GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) and the Data Protection Act (2018) We take great care to ensure that the data held by us about people is relevant and secure to enable our core functions, and that the use of data for other purposes is managed in a way to give you, the user, more control. 

Bensham Manor School is a public body, where data on pupils, parents and staff is kept in the public interest to provide essential services relevant to our role as a school. We do not sell data to any third parties, and take steps to ensure personal data does not fall into the wrong hands. Sometimes, we look to third party suppliers to provide services which enhance our provisions. We take great care to ensure that only relevant data is transferred and that the third parties confirm to the same regulations and that no data is used without our permission.

As with all companies you have the right to request certain information within specific timeframes. More details regarding this can be found in the Freedom of Information Policy linked on this page. There is a form that is required known as a Subject Access Request, again there is a link on this page. The Schools internal Data Protection Officer is Amy Simmons and correspondence regarding Potential Breaches should be addressed to her via the School Office. For Subject Access Requests, please address in writing to the Main Office with the title ‘Subject Access Request’

We have appointed a company to act as our External Data Protection Officer, in case we are not able to answer any questions you have.
