Outdoor Learning Overview

Outdoor Learning has fast become one of the most popular subjects at our school and it is not hard to see why! Assisted by a small army of furry and exotic animals, our Outdoor Learning teacher Leah Campbell lets our pupils experience the ideals of a country environment in the busy streets of Thornton Heath!

Upon entering her classroom pupils are met with various small friendly animals. They are then taught how to feed and look after these animals. When it’s time to get dirty, pupils don wellies and gloves and go and get to work in our own allotment where they will find an eco pond and fire pit designed and built by students to explore and experience camp cooking during their Duke of Edinburgh lessons. Pupils will experience growing vegetables and lots of practical activities including natural crafts and enterprise projects, finding no time to relax – they will benefit from the whole experience!
